6 Hi Reversing Cold Rolling Mill is a precision rolling mill used in metal processing to reduce the thickness of metal strips (such as steel, aluminum, or copper) at room temperature (“cold rolling”). The cold rolling mill process include passing a metal strip or sheet back and forth through the rolls multiple times to gradually reduce its thickness and improve its surface finish and mechanical properties.The cold rolling mill consists of 6 rolls arranged in a vertical stack: 2 work rolls(smallest, in direct contact with the metal strip), 2 intermediate rolls (support the work rolls), 3 backup rolls(largest , provide rigidity to the system).This type of cold rolling mill can pass the metal back and forth through the rolls multiple times. After each pass, the direction of the metal is reversed, allowing for gradual reduction in thickness and improved control over the final dimensions and surface finish. The whole cold rolling process is performed at room temperature or slightly above, as opposed to hot rolling, which occurs at high temperatures. Cold rolling increases the strength and hardness of the metal while improving surface finish and dimensional accuracy.
